Hi there! I'm Fiora Chan, a Design Manager and Design Mentor at Avocademy. My journey into design began in augmented reality, and since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work across diverse industries, including sustainability, sports, e-commerce, music, FinTech, food, and more.
I’m passionate about all aspects of design, from conducting research to deeply understand the target audience, to performing usability testing that ensures a seamless user experience. I thrive on wireframing, collaborating with fellow designers, managers, and stakeholders, and sharing ideas that elevate the work we do.
Ultimately, I believe design should make life easier, more enjoyable, and more meaningful for people. This is what drives my work every day.

At the heart of UX design, empathy is key. It’s about understanding users’ needs, desires, and pain points in order to create meaningful solutions. It helps me connect, collaborate, and contribute in the most positive way possible. It is also equally important in everyday life.
The world of design is always evolving, and I’m a firm believer in continuous growth. New technologies and trends constantly reshape our field, so I make it a priority to learn something new every day—whether through books, courses, or simply experimenting with new ideas.
Curiosity fuels creativity. It encourages me to ask questions, dig deeper into user needs, and seek out feedback from colleagues to refine and improve my work. It’s a mindset that drives innovation and ensures that I’m always looking for better ways to solve design challenges.
You’ll often find me exploring the great outdoors, immersing myself in the beauty of nature. I also love expressing my creativity in the pottery studio, where I enjoy wheel-throwing and glazing unique pottery pieces.
